Living in the forests and mountains of northern North America, Europe, and Asia the brown bear is the most widely distributed bear in the world. Mostly solitary animals, bears gather together at special times during the season for fishing. Mother bears den when they are pregnant and give birth and nurse their cubs until spring. Cubs will stay with their mothers for about 3 years. Even though they are top-of-the-food-chain predators, most of their diet consists of nuts, berries, fruit, leaves, and roots.
The epitome of the protective mother, she represents your hidden strength. Bear says look inward in order to know your self. Her medicine awakens the power of the unconscious and she is a fearless and powerful ally.
