Called MULADHARA in Sanskrit, the name of this energy center translates to “root place”…

The “root” chakra is located at the base of the spine and is connected to the area of the perineum between the genitals and the anus.

Associated with the color RED and the ages of birth to seven years, our muladhara chakra is the first of the seven chakras and represents our ability to survive and provide for ourselves.

Poses like pigeon, mountain, tree, eagle, or the warrior series are great for our first chakra because these poses physically ground our bodies as deep yogic breathing calms and centering the mind causing the spirit to feel uplifted and strong.

the sound of the root chakra is <<LAM>>
